Kuehne + Nagel picks Lange as Herms’ CEO replacement

Kuehne + Nagel picks Lange as Herms’ CEO replacement Basel, Switzerland-based logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel International AG has named Reinhard Lange as the successor to Chief Executive Officer Klaus Herms for mid 2009.

   Lange, 58, joined the company in 1971 working in Bremen, Germany. Since 1999, he has been a member of the Kuehne + Nagel’s management board in charge of sea and air logistics. Before joining the management board Lange was managing director of the Kuehne + Nagel organization in Canada.
   Lange will take over the company’s reigns on June 30, 2009, when Herms will retire after nearly 40 years service. Until then, Lange will maintain his current responsibilities and will at the same time act as Deputy CEO.

Klaus

   'We are very pleased that it was possible to appoint a member of Kuehne + Nagel's top management as successor to Mr. Herms,' said Klaus-Michael Kuehne, chairman of the board of directors. 'For 36 years Mr. Lange has worked for our group and has significantly contributed to its success.'
   Kuehne + Nagel has more than 47,000 employees at 830 locations in over 100 countries. In 2006 it generated revenue of 18.2 billion Swiss francs ($14.7 billion)
