LeanLogistics software promotes ‘green’ actions

LeanLogistics, a Michigan-based provider of transportation management system applications and supply chain services, has updated its On-Demand TMS software with new features centered on logistics, shipment optimization and emission reporting.
One of the key improvements of its On-Demand TMS v.12.1.0 is the inclusion of tools to calculate and report greenhouse gas emissions in line with government and industry standards, providing an overall view of a company’s emissions rates.
American Shipper has seen significant interest among companies investing in technology to support environmental sustainability. In the recent “Environmental Sustainability Benchmark Study: Leaders Find ‘Green’ ROI” (a free copy is available here),companies are not only planning to invest more money but they’re looking to expand to a wider range of technologies to address sustainability.
More American Shipper survey respondents are shifting cargo to “cleaner” modes of transportation (those with lower carbon-emission levels per ton/mile) in 2012 compared to last year, with nearly every technology category included in the survey seeing at least modest usage increases compared to 2011. The key inhibitor to this “greening” is a definable return on investment, which must be determined by companies implementing these technology from providers like LeanLogistics.
