Limits on JFK flights opposed The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said it would be joined by a coalition representing airlines, passenger advocates, and business and tourism groups in opposing the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s planned cuts in flight activity at John F. Kennedy International Airport at a press conference today.
   Thursday the governors of New Jersey and New York sent a letter to U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters, saying a plan to limit arrivals and departures at JFK to 80 an hour during peak hours could worsen congestion at Newark Liberty International Airport.
   “Capping flights would make it harder for every traveler to and from the New York metropolitan area to find the flights they need,” the governors wrote.
