Lines add calls to Americas service

   A trio of liner carriers operating a service between the west coast of South America and the U.S. East Coast will tweak the loop’s rotation to include new calls at Buenaventura and Balboa.
   The Americas service, operated by CSAV, Hamburg Süd, and CCNI, will include the new calls northbound, while a northbound call at Guayaquil will be deleted, CSAV said in a statement. Hamburg Süd calls the service AGAS.
   The revised rotation, from Oct. 24, will be New York/New Jersey, Baltimore, Charleston, Port Everglades, Cartagena, Manzanillo (Panama), Guayaquil, Callao, San Antonio, San Vicente, Callao, Buenaventura, Balboa, Cartagena, Port Everglades, and New York/New Jersey.
   According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, each of the three lines provides two ships on the six-vessel service, with an average capacity of 3,006 TEUs. Alianca and Libra-Montemar take slots.
   CSAV said the change will enable the line “to meet growing demand from the west coast of South America to the east coast of North America and Caribbean with a direct service.”
