Livingston expands in Asia

The global customs broker will expand in China and Taiwan based on customer demand as trade compliance processes decentralize in the region.    The customs broker and global trade management technology provider Livingston International said Friday it is expanding its business in Taiwan and China to meet growing demand in the region.
   The company will offer its full array of GTM services in Taiwan, while growing its presence in China to “further on-the-ground support and harmonize customs and compliance efforts.”
   “Asia is an important global market from a manufacturing and distribution standpoint,” said Matt Goodman, president of Livingston’s GTM operation. “As businesses expand in Asia, they often de-centralize their compliance efforts, causing them to duplicate processes, costing them time and money.”
   Livingston made a similar expansion into India last year as well as restructured its GTM division last year to stay ahead of several sweeping free-trade agreements in negotiations now.
