Livingston International secures new customs, trade services

   Livingston International has finalized the acquisition of the customs and trade compliance services from J.P. Morgan Treasury & Securities Services, a business unit of JPMorgan Chase Bank.
   Livingston president and CEO Peter Luit noted that the acquisition covers the operations and technology of the former Vastera business.
   Adding in these customs and compliance solutions builds on Livigonston’s existing foundation of international trade services in the United States and Canada by now extending them to Mexico, Europe and Asia.
   The acquisition encompasses the logistics services, employees, intellectual property, and technology, including Prisma, Restricted Party Screening and TradeSphere, but none of the J.P. Morgan Global Trade business.
   The purchase will give Livingston a better import and export platform for compliance management as well as the staff to run it, Luit said.
   Livingston International is a large North American customs broker headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, with about 2,700 employees.
