Lloyd Triestino starts East Mediterranean feeder link

Lloyd Triestino starts East Mediterranean feeder link

Lloyd Triestino has launched an intra-Mediterranean feeder service based on its deep-sea hub at the port of Taranto in southern Italy, effective mid-November.

The weekly, two-ship service will also cater for intra-regional cargo within the Eastern Mediterranean. The service has a port rotation of Taranto, Alexandria, Limassol, Ashdod, Mersin, Haifa and Taranto. The first sailing will be made by the 780-TEU “Adria Bianca” from Taranto on Nov. 21.

The service will enable Lloyd Triestino “to offer faster transit times and competitive rates for cargo from/to the Far East, the Indian Sub-continent, Australia and the U.S.,” said Bronson Hsieh, Lloyd Triestino managing director.

It will also enable Lloyd Triestino to improve its market share in ports such as Alexandria, Limassol, Ashdod, Haifa and Mersin, ease imbalance costs and reduce feeder expenses, he added.
