Dr. Yossi Sheffi, chief executive officer of Logistics.com, said the merger had been structured as a stock swap. He declined to reveal terms of the deal, but said the Internet Capital Group provided funds for the acquisition of QuoteShip, based in Boston.
QuoteShip.com has taken the name Logistics.com, and will continue to be run by its former CEO, Gregg Borgeson, who is now president of Burlington, Mass.-based Logistics.com.
Logistics.com said the merger gives it a wider reach in trucking, ocean and air transport. “The combined organization leverages the Internet to streamline inefficient processes across all modes,” said Mark Lotke, managing director of the Internet Capital Group.
