Logue is moving over from FedEx Express, where he is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the U.S. division in charge of air, domestic ground, support and freight services.
Duncan previously announced he will retire at the end of February.
FedEx said Logue will become president of FedEx Freight on Dec. 1 to facilitate a smooth transition and take over the chief executive officer role upon Duncan's departure.
The FedEx Freight portfolio includes FedEx National LTL and FedEx Custom Critical, the company's premium white glove delivery service.
Logue joined FedEx in 1989 when the company acquired all-cargo airline Flying Tiger.
'Bill’s demonstrated ability to lead complex organizations and his in-depth transport operations experience make him an excellent choice as the new president and CEO of the FedEx Freight Segment,” said Frederick W. Smith, chairman and CEO of FedEx.
