The ports handled 1.14 million TEUs in the month. For the year, volume is 4.3 million TEUs at the two ports, with Los Angeles recording 8.5 percent growth and Long Beach 7.3 up percent.
Long Beach saw April volume swell to 531,090 TEUs, including 13.5 percent in imports, to 270,107 TEUs.
Los Angeles total volume grew 3.7 percent to 617,272 TEUs, with import volume rising 3.4 percent to 312,359 TEUs.
