Los Angeles Port Police seize 500 pounds of marijuana

The marijuana was found in an unoccupied boat in San Pedro Bay on Tuesday, according to the Port of Los Angeles.

The 500 pounds of marijuana was discovered on an unoccupied boat in San Pedro Bay on Tuesday and seized by Los Angeles Port Police.

   The Los Angeles Port Police seized roughly 500 pounds of marijuana in San Pedro Bay on Tuesday, according the Port of Los Angeles said.
   While patrolling the bay, police found an unoccupied boat at the Cabrillo Beach Launch Ramp and, upon investigation, found it was carrying marijuana.
   Detectives within the Los Angeles Border Enforcement Security Task Force (LA BEST) are continuing the investigation in collaboration with Port Police.
   LA BEST is tasked with protecting the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport complex and is made up of personnel from nine federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Drug Enforcement Administration, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles Port Police, Long Beach Police Department, and others.
