Los Angeles West Basin draft environmental impact statement dropped

Los Angeles West Basin draft environmental impact statement dropped

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said it will discontinue preparing a draft environmental impact statement covering the proposed overall West Basin improvement projects in the Port of Los Angeles.

The Corps and Los Angeles Harbor Department had proposed the draft statement on July 5, 2002. They are now preparing specific draft statements for both the China Shipping terminal improvements at berths 97-109 and the TraPac Terminal improvements at berths 136-147. Both terminal projects are located within the West Basin of the port.

“This notice does not indicate any change of status for these project specific proposals,” the Corps said.
