Lufthansa Cargo boosts temperature-sensitive capacity in Frankfurt

The German cargo airline said improvements to the Cool Center are slated for completion later this year and will expand the center to 8,000 square meters.    Lufthansa Cargo is expanding its temperature-sensitive center at the Frankfurt Airport, the German cargo airline said Wednesday.
   The Lufthansa Cargo Cool Center at the airport opened in December 2011 and currently offers 4,500 square meters in four different temperature-controlled chiller rooms, as well as a deep-freeze room and direct access to the apron.
   The improvements to the center are slated for completion later this year, expanding it to 8,000 square meters.
   “We’ve gained a great deal of experience in the worldwide transport of sensitive medications,” Lufthansa Board Member Operations Sören Stark said. “The excellent collaboration with numerous shippers from the  pharmaceutical and chemical industries has prompted demand for our service to grow consistently.”
