Lufthansa Cargo Center tonnage up 4.5%
The Lufthansa Cargo Center (LCC) at Frankfurt Airport, one of the world's biggest air freight transshipment centers, 1.58 million tons in 2006, a roughly 4.5 percent increase over the prior-year.
'The air freight business is and remains a strong growth industry,' said Hjoerdis Stahl, manager of the LCC. 'Lufthansa Cargo is ideally positioned in Frankfurt to continue playing a leading role in future in the air freight business worldwide. Lufthansa Cargo handled about two-thirds of the total tonnage transshipped through Frankfurt Airport in 2006.'
