A Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 freighter crashed Tuesday morning at 11:38 a.m. local time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Flight LH 8460, was en route to Riyadh from Frankfurt, Germany.
A two-man crew piloted the plane, according to initial reports. Both pilots are being treated in a hospital.
Lufthansa said on board the flight were 80 tons of freight, but said it is not yet known exactly what type of freight it was or which customers are affected.
The airline said the cause of the accident is still being investigated, it had no further details at the time.
