Lufthansa Cargo raises fuel surcharge

Lufthansa Cargo, citing record prices for kerosene, crude oil and crude oil products, is raising its fuel surcharge from euros 0.40 (48 cents) to euros 0.45 (54 cents) per kilo of actual freight weight, effective July 11.

The German airline’s Fuel Price Index is based on the average price of aviation fuel in the five key global spot markets. Once the index exceeds a specific benchmark for two consecutive weeks, Lufthansa adjusts the fuel surcharge accordingly upwards.
