Lufthansa, Jet discussing Indian cargo venture, says report Germany’s Lufthansa Cargo has reportedly held talks with Mumbai-based Jet Airways about starting a joint venture cargo airline in India.
   A story on newKerala.com quoted Martin Schlingensiepen, Lufthansa Cargo’s vice-president for Asia Pacific region, as saying: 'Though tax and legal restrictions remain, we want to be a part of the India development story. The tonnage capacity is increasing consistently. We’ll also be looking at cargo ground handling at six metro and 30 non-metro city airports.'
   The report said the German carrier would likely focus any new venture on routes such as India/Europe/United States, India/West Asia/East Africa and India/CIS.
   Jet Airways has previously announced plans for a dedicated cargo airline by the end of the year, while Air India is starting cargo operations next week with initial services on Frankfurt and Paris routes.
