Lufthansa names LAN Cargo as Americas handling agent
LAN Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo have reached an agreement for LAN to become Lufthansa's general handling agent at five North and South American airports.
The agreement becomes effective Oct. 30, for Chicago’s O’Hare Airport and New York’s JFK International Airport. Beginning January, the agreement stretches to Lima, Peru, and Rio de Janeiro and Guarulhos airports in Brazil.
Both carriers have been standardizing their training programs, as well as information technology systems, which will permit automatic electronic transmissions.
