LUFTHANSA, SINGAPORE AIR, SAS STUDY CARGO ALLIANCE

LUFTHANSA, SINGAPORE AIR, SAS STUDY CARGO ALLIANCE

Lufthansa Cargo, Singapore Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines System are
studying the feasibility of integrating their international cargo
operations.
The three-way alliance would build on the close cargo partnership
Lufthansa has with SAS in Europe and would clear the way for Singapore  to
join the global Star Alliance.
Lufthansa said the study should be completed within a year. The airline
said all possibilities, from total integration of cargo operations to
minimal cooperation, are being considered.
Lufthansa already operates a freighter with SAS and Japan Airlines
between Sweden and Germany and Japan. Singapore Air and Lufthansa operate a
joint freighter network between Singapore and Germany via the United Arab
Emirates.
