Lufthansa switches capacity in January Lufthansa Cargo will switch capacity from its own fleet and partners to its joint venture cargo airline Jade Cargo International.
   The German carrier said Monday that it will reduce its capacity in its own fleet 10 percent on Jan. 1 while also reducing its cooperative arrangement with World Airways, which had operated two freighters on behalf of Lufthansa. To replace that capacity, Lufthansa will expand its arrangement with Jade, a Chinese airline for which it has been marketing Asia-Europe cargo services since March.
   From mid-2009, Lufthansa will also get a capacity boost from the introduction of AeroLogic, a joint venture cargo airline between DHL Express and Lufthansa.
