LYKES ENTERS ASIA/NORTH EUROPE TRADE
Lykes Lines will launch its first service between North Europe and Asia on Dec.1.
The carrier will take space on two weekly services of CMA CGM. It will enter the trade at a time when shipping lines and forwarders report historically low freight rates and stagnating volumes.
The port rotations of Lykes’ services are:
* North Europe-Asia Loop 1: Le Havre, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Zeebrugge, Southampton, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Hong Kong, Le Havre.
* North Europe-Asia Loop 2: Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Port Kelang, Singapore, Pusan, Kwangyang, Tianjin, Dalian, Qingdao, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Southampton.
Lykes launched a Mediterranean-Asia link in March.
