MacAndrews adding faster ship to U.K./Spain service
London-based MacAndrews, owned by the French CMA CGM Group, is this week introducing a faster 16-knot vessel, the 549-TEU capacity “Meriwa,” on its service between the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.
The vessel joins the 822-TEU “Velazquez” to offer two weekly sailings from Bilbao into Liverpool and a weekly service into Dublin and Greenock.
“The increased speed of the vessel will ensure schedule integrity is maintained, particularly throughout the winter period, when sailing through the Bay of Biscay,” MacAndrews said in a statement.
