MacAndrews adds Russian link to intra-Europe network
MacAndrews, a U.K.-based short sea subsidiary of CMA CGM, is expanding its intra-European container services network by adding transshipment connections to Russia for shippers in Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The shipping line said it will move cargoes on MacAndrews existing weekly services from Iberia and the United Kingdom to Rotterdam, where they will be transshipped to St. Petersburg. CMA CGM operates the link between Rotterdam and the Russian port.
“The launch marks the start of MacAndrews development in the Baltic states and Russia, and is a logical extension of the container shipping services it already offers in the Polish market,” MacAndrews said.
In a separate development, MacAndrews has named Jim Robb general manager, Indian trades, and appointed Mary Sullivan owners’ representative in the United States.
MacAndrews has recently joined the U.S. East Coast/Indian Subcontinent “Indamex” service, of which CMA CGM was already a member.
