MacAndrews puts Copsey in charge of short-sea trades

MacAndrews puts Copsey in charge of short-sea trades U.K.-based MacAndrews, part of the French CMA CGM Group, has appointed Mark Copsey as its general manager, short-sea trades.
   Copsey was the shipping company's Iberia/Baltic trade manager.
   'Mark’s appointment is an important step in the development of our strategic plan for the Iberia/Baltic and eastern European regions,' said Geoff Smith, MacAndrews' managing director. 'We believe the economic prospects and potential for increased cargo in these regions will be transformed over the next few years, following accession to the EU by most of the eastern European states.'
   'Increased sourcing of a wide range of consumer products in Eastern Europe has begun to change the pattern of European logistics. So for many shippers, short-sea shipping is becoming more attractive and competitive compared with road transport,' Smith said.
