The company said it will provide equipment for five pure car/truck carriers under construction for Grimaldi Group.
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, announced it has entered into a contract with Chinese shipbuilding group Yangfan to deliver roll-on/roll-off access equipment for five post-Panamax pure car/truck carriers (PCTCs) for Grimaldi Group, with options for seven more.
Each equipment package will consist of a quarter ramp, side ramp, internal ramps, bulkhead doors and four levels of liftable car decks.
The 7,800-car equivalent unit PCTCs are expected to enter service in 2017 and be deployed on Grimaldi’s car transport service between Europe, the United States and Canada.
