Macquarie executive moves to DOT

President Bush has nominated D.J. Gribbon, a division director for Macquarie Holdings USA, to be general counsel for the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Macquarie Holdings is part of the Macquarie Infrastructure Group, the world's largest developer of private toll roads. The Australian company has acquired several toll road concessions in the United States in the past several years, including a 75-year contract to operate the Indiana Toll Road with a Spanish partner.

The DOT is promoting toll roads as a viable alternative to help address some of the nation's critical highway infrastructure needs.

Gribbon will reunite with DOT Secretary Mary Peters. He served as her general counsel when she headed the Federal Highway Administration during Bush's first term.
