Maersk accepts chilled cargo into Umm Qasr
Maersk Line said last week it is accepting chilled and frozen reefer cargo into the port of Umm Qasr in Iraq.
Maersk started a feeder service from Jebel Ali to the Iraqi port in October 2009, and began reefer service to Umm Qasr in March, but had only accepted frozen cargo, not chilled.
'This service is supported by 150 reefer plugs at the terminal, but acceptance is currently limited to 50 reefers per week for all trades,' the line said.
