Maersk adding Chile call, dropping Zeebrugge from Andean loop

Maersk adding Chile call, dropping Zeebrugge from Andean loop Maersk Line has added calls at Lirquen in Chile to its weekly Europe-West Coast South America Andean service. At the same time, the Danish carrier has also dropped calls at the Belgian port of Zeebrugge from the rotation.
   Lirquen has already been included for northbound sailings of the service while the first southbound call will leave the Chile port on June 24 with the departure of the Oluf Maersk. The last call at Zeebrugge was made by the Jeppesen Maersk Wednesday. From now on all Belgian imports and exports will connect to the service via barge to and from Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
   The Andean service uses six vessels of about 2,900 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Algeciras, Spain; Rotterdam; Felixstowe; Kingston, Jamaica; Balboa, Panama; San Antonio, Chile; Lirquen, Chile; Balboa; and back to Algeciras.
