Maersk adding Far East/Mediterranean service
Maersk Line will later this month start its 10th dedicated Asia/Europe service with a weekly loop connecting China and Hong Kong to its major Mediterranean transshipment hubs at Malaga and Algeciras in Spain.
The AE11 service will use seven vessels of about 4,000 TEUs with a port rotation of Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Malaga, Algeciras, Xiamen and Xingang. The first departure from Xingang will be made on May 28.
“The AE11 will enable us to meet our customers’ increasing demand for more capacity. Thereby we can continue to offer our customers new opportunities and support them in benefiting from globalization,” the Danish carrier said in a statement.
