Maersk Line names new president in North America

The world’s largest container carrier has appointed Omar Shamsie to serve as the new president of Maersk Line in North America, effective Dec. 1.    Danish ocean carrier Maersk Line has appointed Omar Shamsie to serve as the new president of Maersk Line in North America, effective Dec. 1, the company revealed Friday.
   Shamsie has most recently been serving as president of Maersk Line Latin America & the Caribbean. Prior to that, he served as president of Maersk Line Canada.
   Throughout his 28 years with Maersk, Shamsie has also served in director and vice president positions around the globe with the company.
   Michael White, the former president of Maersk Line North America, stepped down from the role in October and is taking on a newly created role as head of global trade digitization for A.P. Moller – Maersk Transport & Logistics.
