MAERSK LOGISTICS UNIT OBTAINS NVO LICENSE FOR MAINLAND CHINA

Maersk Logistics (China) Co. Ltd. said Chinese authorities have accredited the provider of supply chain and transportation solutions to perform as a non-vessel-operating common carrier within China.

Obtaining the license had become necessary after the Beijing government introduced strict regulatory changes pertaining to NVOs in mainland China.

The provider is among the first wholly owned foreign enterprises to receive a license, which “will allow us full control over operations as well as allowing issuance of house bills of lading to our clients,” said Steffen Schiottz-Christensen, managing director of Maersk Logistics China. The company is a division of Maersk Logistics, part of the A.P. Moller Group.
