Maersk makes changes in Med, Middle East services

Maersk makes changes in Med, Middle East services Maersk Line said it has made changes in its services between the Middle East, Mediterranean, and U.S. East Coast.
   Effective Jan. 31 with the first eastbound sailing of the Maersk Missouri from Norfolk, the MECL1 service will:
   ' Remove the Malaga call to improve eastbound transit times.
   ' Reverse Charleston and Norfolk calls to improve transit time between Norfolk and Jebel Ali.
   ' Offer fast eastbound service to Port Said.
   Effective Jan. 13 eastbound with the sailing of the SL Commitment from Houston and Jan. 25 westbound with the sailing of the Gosport Maersk the MECL2 service will:
   ' Make a direct Houston call on MECL2 resulting in improved transit times.
   ' Make a direct Djibouti call on MECL2 eastbound voyage on alternate weeks.
   ' Offer connections via Algeciras and Gioia Tauro for Mediterranean cargo.
   ' Offer fast and direct inbound service from Port Said.
   ' Maintain a direct call to Aqaba for time sensitive cargo to North America.
   ' Maintain exclusive direct calls in Chennai.
