Maersk moves to Caucedo from Rio Haina on Europe/Caribbean loop

Maersk moves to Caucedo from Rio Haina on Europe/Caribbean loop Denmark’s Maersk Line is switching southbound calls in the Dominican Republic from Rio Haina to Caucedo on its weekly Europe/Caribbean/Central America service.
   The Central America and Caribbean Express (CRX) will make the move to Caucedo starting with the voyage of the Anna Schulte, which is scheduled to depart from Southampton on June 2. The service already calls at Caucedo northbound.
   The CRX uses five vessels averaging about 2,700 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Southampton; Zeebrugge; Rotterdam; Algeciras; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Caucedo; Kingston, Jamaica; Moin Bay, Costa Rica;
Manzanillo, Panama; Caucedo; and back to Southampton.
   The switch completes Maersk’s previously started transition to make all global imports into the Dominican Republic move through Caucedo instead of Rio Haina.
