Maersk opts for Evergreen eastbound Pacific slots    Maersk Line said last week it will replace the slots it used on an eastbound transpacific service operated on its behalf by Horizon Lines with slots on an Evergreen eastbound transpacific service.
   Maersk's contract with Horizon expires Dec. 10, at which point Horizon will begin operating its own eastbound transpacific service. Maersk will now take slots (eastbound only) on parts of Evergreen's TPS service.
   The Evergreen service, operated as a standalone with six vessels with an average capacity of 6,209 TEUs, has a rotation of Yantian, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Taipei, Los Angeles, Oakland, Tacoma, Kaohsiung and Yantian, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data.
   But Maersk is only taking eastbound slots on the Kaohsiung-Taipei-Los Angeles-Oakland leg, using the same TP1 moniker. The eastbound rotation of the Horizon-operated TP1 service is Yantian, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Los Angeles and Oakland.
