Maersk raises Ecuador-North America rates

   Maersk Line plans to implement a number of rate increases in November, according to the line’s weekly customer notice.
   From Nov. 18, the line will seek a $500 per 40-foot high-cube reefer container increase from Ecuador to United States and Canada destinations. From Ecuador to Canada, Maersk will also raise rates by $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot or 40-foot high-cube container.
   From Nov. 1, Maersk will also seek a $100 per container from northern European ports to the Far East.
   Also on Nov. 1, the line will raise rates from India to East Africa by $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container.
   On Nov. 15, rates from Canada to Ghana will be rise by $500 per 20-foot container and $1,000 per 40-foot container.
