Maersk raising rates in April

   Maersk Line said this week it’s raising rates on a number of trades starting next month.
   The increases are:

  • Far East to Indian Subcontinent, $150 per TEU, from April 15.
  • Far East to east coast of South America, $600 per 20-foot container and $1,200 per 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube, or 45-foot high-cube container, from April 15.
  • Northern Europe to Indian Subcontinent, $250 per 20-foot container and $500 per 40-foot container, May 1.
  • Dominican Republic to the Far East, $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container, from April 15.
  • Puerto Rico to the Far East, $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container, from May 1.

   Maersk also said it’s increasing its Suez Canal fee for all unregulated trades from $25 to $40 “due to the recently announced increase of the transit fee from the canal authority.”
