Maersk revises North Europe/Med service

Maersk revises North Europe/Med service    Maersk Line said it plans a number of changes to its Euromed service (43G) serving northern Europe to the eastern Mediterranean, effective July 20.
   Gioia Tauro will be removed from the southbound rotation, while a call in Haifa and Gioia Tauro will be added to the northbound rotation. The revised rotation, to commence from vessel Maersk Bintan, will be Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Alexandria, Port Said, Haifa, Ashdod, Gioia Tauro and Felixstowe.
   It said the changes will improve Maersk’s northern Europe to Egypt and Israel product by increasing the dedicated capacity, reducing transit times and expanding direct port coverage.
   To complement the changes Maersk Line will also launch a new east-west Mediterranean feeder service to cater for Gioia Tauro-Alexandria volumes as well as other key corridors. The rotation will be Algeciras, Gioia Tauro, Alexandria, Mersin, Izmir and Algeciras.
