MAERSK SEALAND ADDS TO CHINESE COVERAGE

MAERSK SEALAND ADDS TO CHINESE COVERAGE    Maersk Sealand has established service coverage of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China, and Wenzhou, a nearby coastal city located on the East China Sea.
   All export and import cargo for Hangzhou will be carried by truck through Shanghai or Ningbo. Maersk Sealand said that it will not issue through bills of lading from and to Hangzhou for the time being.
   Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang province and its major exports are textile, silk, electronic appliances, chemicals, machinery, medicines and food.
   Wenzhou is one of China’s fourteen coastal cities opened to the foreign trade and its major export products are footwear, light textiles, chemicals, machinery, arts and crafts, ceramics and electrical appliances.
   Maersk Sealand will transship cargoes from and to Wenzhou under connecting carrier agreements with Zhejiang Ocean Shipping Co. and China Ocean Shipping Wenzhou Agency, who are authorized to issue Maersk Sealand through bills of lading.
   The feeder services for Wenzhou will connect to the ports of Shanghai or Ningbo.
