MAERSK SEALAND EXTENDS ONLINE TARIFF TO EUROPE-EAST AFRICA TRADE
Maersk Sealand has added an online tariff facility to its web site for dry cargo rates in the trade between Europe and East Africa.
Maersk Sealand claimed that it is the first global ocean carrier to provide an online tariff for a non-U.S. trade.
Under U.S. laws, all shipping lines are required to provide tariff rates online for trades to and from the U.S.
The latest update of the “E-Rate” module also includes an email function, enabling shippers to forward a rate request for any trade.
