MAERSK SEALAND REDIRECTS NEW ZEALAND SERVICE TO TANJUNG PELEPAS

   Maersk Sealand has switched the Asian base of its four-ship New Zealand service from Hong Kong to Tanjung Pelepas.

   Two of the ships on “String 71” loop now call fortnightly at Tanjung Pelepas, Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Nelson, Timaru and Tanjung Pelepas.

   The other fortnightly “String 72” loop has a revised port rotation of Tanjung Pelepas, Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Tanjung Pelepas.

   All four ships have a capacity of 2,226-TEUs.

   According to ComPairData, the global liner shipping database on the Internet, Maersk Sealand now interconnects a total of five services at Tanjung Pelepas.
