Maersk Sealand, Safmarine try new Suez canal terminal    A service operated jointly by Maersk Sealand and sister company Safmarine will start calling at the new Suez Canal Container Terminal next month.
   The weekly service operates between the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East and the Mediterranean under the names “AE4” and “Prime Med 2.”
   Maersk Sealand said the calls will be made on a trial basis.
   Suez Canal Container Terminal, located at the northern end of the Suez Canal, is majority controlled by A.P. Moller-Maersk, the parent company of Maersk Sealand and Safmarine. Opened on Oct. 3, the terminal wants to operate as a transshipment hub for the eastern Mediterranean, competing against the existing hubs of Gioia Tauro and Malta.
