MAERSK SEALAND STARTS LIVERPOOL/IBERIA/MED SERVICE
Maersk Sealand is starting a Liverpool/Iberia/Mediterranean weekly service, its first container service from the port of Liverpool in the north of England.
The “Liverpool Express” service, due to start on Sunday (July 28), will employs three ships of about 1,000-TEU capacity. It will call at Liverpool; Le Havre, France; Lisbon, Portugal; Algeciras, Spain; and Gioia Tauro and Salerno, Italy; returning via Algeciras and Leixoes, Portugal.
Several of the ports of call of the new service are transshipment hubs.
