Maersk Sealand starts Pipavav feeder from Salalah

Maersk Sealand is starting a weekly feeder connection between the Indian northwestern coast port of Pipavav and Salalah, the carrier’s Middle East hub port in Oman.

Pipavav is located in the Saurashtra region of the state of Gujarat. Salalah is one of Maersk Sealand’s main regional transshipment hubs, with direct connections to and from the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The new link, will “open a new gateway for cargo to and from North India,” Maersk Sealand said.

A 1,200-TEU feeder ship used for this service will depart Pipavav every Thursday, arriving Salalah Sunday.
