MAERSK SEALAND VESSEL RESCUES THREE IN PACIFIC

'The crew of the Maersk Sealand vessel 'Sea-Land Innovator' on Monday rescued three from a stranded 48-foot sailboat, about 600 miles west of San Francisco, Calif.

A wave had snapped the rudder off and a line fouled the propeller of the sailboat, the 'Life's Dream,' which had departed Honolulu 17 days earlier.

The 'Sea-Land Innovator,' a U.S.-flag ship, serves the northern Asia/U.S. West Coast trade lane on Maersk Sealand's TP-2 string and is operated by U.S. Ship Management Inc.

Charlotte, N.C.-based USSM time charters the U.S.-flag vessel to Maersk Line Ltd., which in turn makes space available to Maersk Sealand
