Maersk sells Salamis

Maersk sells Salamis    United Kingdom-based Maersk Co. Ltd., a division of Denmark’s A.P. Moller-Maersk, has sold Salamis Group Ltd. to German industrial services provider Rheinhold & Mahla AG, for an undisclosed amount.
   Salamis, located in Aberdeen, Scotland, provides operational support services in the U.K. offshore and onshore oil and gas markets. It has further operations in England and Denmark as well as in the United States and Canada. The company employs over 1,500 people and has annual revenue of about 163 million euros ($205 million).
   “Rheinhold & Mahla already has a strong presence in the Norwegian offshore market and this acquisition will allow the group to become a leading provider of industrial maintenance services to the entire North Sea and international oil and gas market,” Munich-based Rheinhold & Mahla said in a statement.
   Salamis will remain headquartered in Aberdeen.
   “This is a good move for all involved with the company and we are delighted that the new owner is a respected, international company with the intention of building on our experience, reputation and worldwide customer base to move into new areas of the international oil, petrochemical and power markets,” said Bill Allan, Salamis’ chairman.
   Rheinhold & Mahla is part of the Bilfinger Berger Multi Service Group.
