Maersk speeds up WAF8

   The ocean carrier Maersk Line has speeded up its weekly Europe-to-West Africa WAF8 service, decreasing roundtrip voyage time from 28 days to 21 days. 
   Transit times have improved by a few days in both directions, now taking five days from the last hub call out of Algeciras to Nouakchott, Mauritania, and seven days from Banjul, Gambia, to the first hub port in at Tangiers, Morocco. 
   The rotation of WAF8 remains Tangiers, Algeciras, Nouakchott, Banjul, and Tangiers. 
   The service is currently operated by three vessels (two from Maersk and one from subsidiary Safmarine) with an average capacity of 1,748 TEUs. 
   Maersk operates 10 other similar direct weekly services between Algeciras/Tangiers and West Africa, the WAF1, WAF2, WAF3, WAF5, WAF6, WAF7, WAF9, WAF10, WAF11, and WAF13. None of the other WAF loops, however, call at either Nouakchott or Banjul. – ComPair Data, Ben Meyer
