Maersk switches Oakland calls to TTI terminal

Total Terminals International, a terminal operator in the ports of Los Angeles, Seattle and Oakland, said over the weekend that Maersk's TP5 and TP7 transpacific services will begin calling at the TTI terminal in Oakland in January.

Both services have called at Maersk terminal operating division APM Terminal's facility in Oakland but will switch to the TTI terminal when the lease on that terminal expires Dec. 31. Ports America is taking over management of the former APM terminal on Jan. 1.

The services will add 60,000 liftings per year to the TTI terminal, the company said. TTI is 60 percent owned by Hanjin Shipping and 40 percent by Macquarie.
