Management Dynamics acquires NextLinx

Management Dynamics, a provider of software to facilitate contract logistics and supply chain operations, has acquired NextLinx Corp., a provider of trade compliance technology.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. A source close to the deal told Shipper's News Wire it was a cash transaction, with no exchange of stock involved.

'NextLinx's international trade compliance software and content complements our logistics contract management and supply chain visibility offerings to establish a complete set of applications for global trade management,' said Jim Preuninger, chief executive officer of Management Dynamics, based in East Rutherford, N.J.

Rajiv Uppal, who founded NextLinx in 1994, has been named chief software architect for all of Management Dynamics' applications. In addition to NextLinx's products, the company's combined suites of software include Rate Explorer, a contract management application, and software providing visibility into logistics operations that comes from BridgePoint, a company acquired by Management Dynamics earlier this year.
