MarAd: $9.8 million in grants for small shipyards
The U.S. Maritime Administration's Office of Shipyards and Marine Engineering said it has $9.8 million in grants for capital and related improvements for qualified small shipyards.
The agency said the grant funds may also be used for maritime training programs to 'foster technical skills and operational productivity in communities whose economies are related to or dependent upon the maritime industry.'
Grant applications are due to MarAd by June 14. The agency intends to award the grants by Aug. 15. For more details, access the Federal Register notice.
