MarAd chief to address Fort Schuyler, Kings Point Alumni
U.S. Maritime Administrator Sean Connaughton will address a joint meeting of the Port of New York Chapter of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Association and Fort Schuyler Maritime Alumni Association on April 23.
Connaughton will speak at the first joint industry luncheon the two groups have held.
The State University of New York’s Maritime College at Fort Schuyler in the Bronx and the federal Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point on Long Island, are traditional rivals in sports and other endeavors, but their graduates often work together aboard vessels and ashore.
Organizers say they expect to sell out the event, which will be held at the Yale Club in New York City.
